Professional experience : Dr. Basavaraja, T., was born on July 1st, 1987, in a small village called Kanadagallu, in the Bellary Dist. of Karanataka. He completed his master's degree (2012) and Ph.D. degree (2014) at the University of Agriculture Science, GKVK, Bangalore (Karnataka). He started his career as a scientist at the ICAR-Indian Institute of Pulses Research, Kalyanpur, Kanpur-208024 (India) in the year 2015, and he was promoted to senior scale (next higher grade pay) through the career advancement scheme (CAS) in January 1st, 2019. He served 9 years of research experience at this institute in multi-dimensional areas, including rajmash germplasm exploration, evaluation, and characterization, designing a breeding program for biotic and abiotic stress tolerance, nutritional quality breeding, and implementing a basic and applied research agenda for crop variety/cultivar and genetic stocks development and also, he given more emphasis on plant genetic resources management and genetic enhancement of Common bean (Rajmash) and Mungbean. After joining the IIPR institute, he strengthened the rajmash breeding program for crop enhancement and advanced the research to the next stage. In addition, he collected over 1500 germplasm accessions from a national and worldwide gene bank within a short period. Through multi-environment rigorous phenotyping, he has developed 22 promising trait-specific donors/genetics stocks in rajmash. He registered five unique trait-specific donors/genetic stocks as a developer/co
